|
|
The 69 of mine has a canvas convt top that was installed in 1991-92. The thign though is, it looks like it was installed yesterday, all around, headliner, cloth and everything in between. The only blemish is - the canvas has seams that have split right where it curves above the rear seat. Left side is ~9-10 inch and right side is ~18 inches. This seam runs lengthwise along the car front to back. I really would like to sew it as opposed to replacing it.
Is there a way to sew the thing that any one knows of.
Thanks.

I know it can be sewn if you take it off the car but that poses a few concerns. These tops are made a little large in certain places and as it is installed it gets trimmed. So if yo utake it off, you'll have to be very careful to make sure you re-install in the exact location. The rear window area is the biggest issue I think, _________________ 79 super Vert

The edges along the window top line the top has a piping of sorts, I also see something like that under the front bow as well. Rear deck lid edge also has that same type. The window part oval cut out may be cut in place, but the entire rest, well, plastic can be cut and left un sewn on the edge, canvas cannot, so it cant be cut @ install.
Cool.
