It's was running fine and after exhausting the normal culprits we've got out the tester.
Power through the coil fine, there is also power to one Hall sender outside wire - the red & black wire - but the #1 brown and white wire is dead = no voltage. We took the wire out of the Hall sender connector and the housing for the connector to the - whatever it is that it plugs into on the firewall thing - and 12V from the battery runs through it just fine.
This problem is above my head and so is the book explanations. Is the ECU toast or is the piece on the firewall that all the wires plug into bad?
We are out of things to test here until we can figure this out.
Thank you,

| Mark's bypass harness, a DigiTool and a multimeter should track it down. |

Yes it's the 85, I have read and read here but found no solution.
This is my 7th rig and I have never encountered this problem.
We have stopped testing here because there is zero spark and I read there should be 12V at both the outer wires. As an after thought there is also no power to the center wire with the key on or engine cranking.
Thank you,

With the 1.9 Digijet system the ECU is not part of the spark system.
I don't generally get involved in Digijet issues but you have the wrong notion of how to test the voltages at the 3 pin connector.
Bentley page 28.28 and 28.29 shows the ignition system for Digijet.
The first thing I would do now is bypass the idle stabilizer by unplugging the 2 round connectors from it and plugging them to each other instead. Then test for spark again. That bypassed idle unit adjusts the spark timing electronically and can kill the spark entirely if it is bad. LEAVE it bypassed until the the problem is sorted out.
If still no spark, start at page 28.36 and follow ALL of the steps exactly as given.

It's been a long week.
I'm sorry for the confusion. My son has informed me that we have the 91 GL now not the 85.
My brain is not working either.
Being the Digifant I did unplug the idle stabilizer to try that but still zero spark.
A friend of mine stopped by and we swapped out the ICM ignition control module with his that is working and still no spark.
I am at a loss as to how to proceed any further.
Thank you,

Does anyone think I should delete this and start it over so I can have the correct information from the beginning?
I really hope to get this thing figured out this weekend.
Thank you,
