I am making some upgrades to my motor. Its a pretty basic DP 1641, dual 34's, 003 distributor, single quiet pack. I am installing CB Performance 1.25 rockers, and swivel feet adjusters. The swivel feet don't allow enough room to set some lash in the valves. Is it normal to shim the rocker blocks to get a proper valve gap. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks...

You need to set up your valve train geometry and get either precut or cut to fit pushrods. In your case it would be ok with HD aluminums. You dont have room cause your stock length pushrods are to long.

When you run swivel feet they are longer,so you have to shim up the rocker shaft or cut push rods to length. Usually CB's swivel feet come with shims.

If these are the porsche style, the "foot" ones, then it is usual to grind the rocker back about .060" at least and also use about .060 shims under the rockers. That is usual for mid .400"s valve lift

The shims usually come with the kit.

or remachine the end of the rocker where the foot contacts it,I have never seen any new ones that were even on the end.you probably need shorter pushrods too. and dont forget to check the oil gally hole&slot for proper oiling, it may need some help.Ive seen those varry 3-4 threads also.
