I am trying to identify what goes in all the switch holes.
There are 2 switch holes to the left of the speedo and 2 on the right.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

From left to right:
1 - Someone added this hole, could be anything.
2 - Wipers
3 - Headlights
4 - Emergency light switch

I don't know what you mean by tabs.

Example:
The wiper switch hole, immediately to the left of the pod, just has a little hole under the lip of the dash for the mounting screw to pass though. There is nothing else. The switch itself has a little mounting bracket on it though.

Maybe post a photo of these tabs?

Ok, what was in it originally?

You could install another switch there if you want to use it.
Fog lights? Or whatever you like...

I've had a few Buses with a lighter in line with the switches.
Nobody really smokes any more but might be good as a power source for a cell phone or iPod.

when we got the bus it was to be a put back together and drive. Saw bad bodywork could not let it go. A year later after striping , blasting ,redoing all that was done we are back to the body filler. The dash hole been on my mind the entire time. Welltry to get close pic of the dash, maybe can tell better . thanks

I will back up Everette's assessment. Without a close up, my guess would be the hole closest to the pod is the wiper switch and the mounting bracket is still there--that's the tab referred to in the post. Outside hole is for a cigarette lighter, again, with the outer shell still mounted and the heating element with the knob is missing.

The wiper switch for '66 and '67 buses does not have the bracket and screw through the bottom lip of the dash. They use a 2-speed switch with a mounting nut integrated into the switch, like the '66 and '67 emergency flasher switch. Notice that the hazard switch hole and the wiper switch hole are both much smaller than the headlight switch hole.

From this ad:

I see that there are notches in the brass ring of the switch body. Maybe they engage the "tabs" that were referenced earlier. Looking closely at the pic of the dash, it looks like there might be a dimple in the lower edge of the wiper switch hole. Could this be the tab that he's talking about?
