Short story, the passenger side bright worked, the driver's side did not.

Logically, I thought "I'll test the wires on the side that works to see what is happening." Found the wire that works when the headlights are dim. Found the wire that works when the headlights are bright. Observed that the corresponding wire on the driver's side did not work (I've already determined the problem was not the headlight itself).

Naturally, I ran a wire between the passenger side bright wire and the driver's side bright wire. Logical, right? I forgot that logic has nothing to do with electricity.

Now neither bright light works. Did I overload something or was I not wearing rubber-soled shoes while suspended in mid-air while wiring it?

Wait, I didn't cut the wire on the driver's side to connect the new wire, I just spliced it and touched the bare wire (which still ran backwards to the relay).

Is it possible I toasted the relay because of this? or a fuse? Would it have worked had I cut the driver's side wire first and connected the new wire?

Before I die I'm going to understand the differnece between and amp, ohm, watt, volt and the 500 different other measurements of electricity.

Honestly I don't know. When I saw that neither headlight worked I simply stopped and begged forgiveness from the God of Electricity and promised never to challenge his authority over me again.

Now that I think about it, I did create a positive circuit that ran back to the relay and fuse when I connected one side to the other. I'm betting that's it.
