I just opened up my August 2011 New york edition of Car and Travel Magazine, and low and behold, a Baywindow!
Looks like they reversed the photo though. _________________ 1976 Westy Marigold Yellow

Nice Groupies.
That photo would make a great ad for........VW Busses.
Damn, I now have the need to go out and buy a tan Bus.
Is that subliminal advertising? _________________ 1976 Westy Marigold Yellow

Old VW buses are probably AAA most common tow per mile of operation. They might as well get some advertising mileage out of that. They should offer a Little Miss Sunshine special for buses, 500 mile towing for only $200 extra per year. |

I have a friend that works for AAA and I told her about the need for them and our Buses. She said she pitched the idea of sponsoring the new Bus movie to AAA. I haven't heard of a decision yet. _________________ 1978 Delux Campmobile

If you are lucky, here in America. When you do retire. You will have saved enough money to afford to buy a Bus to live in. Social Security should maybe cover the campground. And recycling plastic bottles should cover the rest of your needs. Thats my plan and I'm stickin to it. |

You know, there's something slightly appealing about the picture you paint.....life on the road. I think I might trade my kingdom for that. _________________ *****************

No, social security isn't enough to pay for exotic luxuries like campgrounds. However I've had my AAA for a few years now for the bus and bug without ever using it. It's kind of a feeling of being short changed and not getting my moneys worth. But breaking down on the desert stretch between here and Cali in the summer might result in S.S. not having to pay out any more. I'd be getting short changed again.
The cool thing about AAA towing buses versus new cars is new cars go to dealerships which are everywhere. Mine would only get towed to my only approved repair facility which is my home. Or a relatives home at the other end of the line. _________________ 71 Superbug

I've been maintaining the AAA mainly to save a rush hour recovery trip if the wifes Honda throws in the towel on the way to work, I've pondered how I'd ever use it for the bus (just like DBM), perhaps to the parking lot of the nearest VW specfic parts store?
The original photo does look flipped, maybe they are discussing thier options now that they've been busted for driving on the wrong side of the road with no rear plate? F'n hippies
Randy, you are aware the bus with the hotties is some sort of OTW?, if you can look away to the right for a second the grain on the closet is horizontal and the pop top is short.
Chabanais, living in the bus doesn't include the la-z-boy nap infront of the tube every evening, sure you could maintain the energy level to keep up with a foursome? I don't think AAA responds to calls where it's fallen and you can't get it up _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

It might be a short retirement but a fun one.
