| are 68 double cab gates one year only? all three are really straight, two of mine are pretty good and the left side one is crusty in the back/bottom and the mounting point under the hinge is wasted. if i lay it down im afraid it will rip off. a good metal wizard could easily save these, but i was just curious. |

No, 68-79 all fit the same, infact the rear fits splittys too as long as you can live with the tail light holes. Gerson makes patch panels for them or whole gates BTW.

As far as I know, only minor production differences if any, some pre 71’s had an added foot step on the rear gate to make it easer to step up on to the bed…

| Good, thanks. But finding a gate may be as hard as finding a metal guy to repair this one. |

I have the Gearson rear gate on my 68 double cab the fit is great.
Was a little pricey but it is worth every penny!
