Hello everyone
In my rear engine hood I see that the gasket has two flaps that are visible (see two white arrow in the photo). Were they installed correctly or should one be visible and the other under the sheet metal?
If it was installed incorrectly, is it possible to fix it?
Thank you

one flap of rubber above, one flap of rubber below is the correct way for this rubber seal to work. as it is wrongly installed, hot air from under the car will be sucked into the engine bay by the vacuum of the cooling fan. fix this for correct cooling

dish soap can be useful in assisting the rubber flap to slide into place without tearing.

it can be helpful to remove the rearmost tin piece to make it easier to get the flaps correct on the left and right sides, then once that is done, reinstall the rear tin piece. the rubber depending on its manufacture and age (pliability) can be difficult to make right, hence the use of soap and rear tin piece to make job easier.

I just did this on Ol' Herb.
instead of removing the tin, just pull the seal back out
Then split it with your fingers and slide one part down between the tin and the apron and pop the bottom of the seal into the apron
once you get in in all around use a plastic trim tool to tuck the top of the seal back into the apron.
sounds complicated, but it's easy

Next time you have the engine out, remove the OEM style seal and use a bus engine seal instead. You need to trim it a bit, but it installs easily after the engine is reinstalled and seals better than the original style seal IMO.

This is the one you'd use:

^^^ I do this now too. Seals better, costs less, WAY easier to install.

You seem to have a nice original rubin red car. I would prefer to stay original using the lip with both flaps, pulling one under and the other over the engine tin.
But your ignition cable brackets are not the correct style. The correct ones are:

These are also better, because the wires stay safe and won't be affected during install.
