Did any split Buses come from the factory with antennas (perhaps as an option)? I have noticed so many with either one just below the middle of windshields or one just below the passenger windshield. My '65 DC has one, my '63 Standard does not. Was going to get rid of it but figured I'd ask first...thanks.

I'm restoring a 1957 23 window right now. Using safari windows up front, I will need some ideas on radio antennas and there placement or location.

I have seen some that change angle (Shaped like an "L")

Can anyone help me?

Thanks a lot.

I heard that I might be able to bend one with a copper tube bender.

I will try it.

I bent mine and when you bend it, it makes the metal so thin that the metal fatigues and breaks. the original antennas were specially made for safaris. I don't remember the company that made them. I did see a guy on this site selling an antenna that has the bent piece made into (out of stainless) the antenna.

I don't like the quality of these repop safari antennas, so what I did was run the antenna underneath the body of my bus up where nobody could see it. Saved me from punching a hole in the body as well. NAES
