wolfsburg west is advertising a body panel to repair cut rear wheel openings. anyone had any experience with this part? what is the best fix method? my 60 deluxe was cut by some farmer in the sixties and needs to be repaired. this restoration stuff is slow goin' sometimes.

From what I understand that most of the replacement parts are similar. Some poeple like that "dar von haus" (whatever the spelling or name is)replacement panels, but I don't think it really matters as much and guy doing the welding. The biggest problem with repairing that particular panel is warping caused by excessive heat. Find a guy with experience with long panel repair and a MIG (with thin wire and low heat). He'll have to know how to control the heat by "stitching" the weld in sections little by little. This takes some skill, so if you do it yourself... practice on long pieces of scrap. IMHO The brand replacement parts are of less significants.
