there's a bit more welding to be done yet, across the front, a bit at the back and a bit more inside
steering rack boots, LPG tank under the floor, secondary battery wiring and a bunch of other stuff, and 2 weeks to get it done Very Happy if the weather keeps dry i'll have to finish

NICE! perhaps you can clean the old one up (if structurally sound) and mount as a reserve or extra for prolonged travelling? I don't know if that is feasible. My propane tank is under the slider not on the Westy side.

That tank's pretty thick, hard to tell by the pics but it doesn't look like the rust is that deep. Maybe it's got a bad o-ring or something. I bought a tank from that Chris fellow over your way and it was super rusted; not advertised as such of course. Still works fine though, heh!

I've got two tanks on my van, comes in real handy when running the heater, BBQ, and cooktop a lot. There's practially mounts already for the 2nd tank. Also I've got an auto-changeover valve so you can see when a tank is empty and get that one filled up.

Rubbachicken I love your pioneer spirit and enthusiasm as you smash all rules, barriers and time lines with the restoration.
I have a homemade paint booth in my shop that I scrub and clean as thorough as possible before painting a vehicle...and I still get bugs or dust particles in the paint. You guys didn't even sweep the driveway and your work looks great. You are having waaay tooo much fun. Keep it up!
