Any thoughts on their suitability in a syncro application? The open arrangement is a bit of a turnoff, guards are easy to make, size looks good. $100 for used units is ok to...

Are you thinking about one of these as an alternative to locking hubs or to a decoupler?

If it can withstand the elements or be used with some sort of guard then I think that this could be used as an alternative.

Unfortunately, all that I have read about these units either begins or ends with

The original company is still around in the large RV business. I know them from their Blue Ox towbars. Apparently, they sold the driveshaft disconnector design to SuperFlow (the racing dyno and flowbench company) who is continuing the business.

It seems a horrible idea for a Syncro.

I prefer my decouplers as they are internal units and use the vacuum system already in place for the lockers.

The Remco is designed to allow for towing not really to engage and disengage all wheel drive.
