What do they run, cost wise? I wanted a set for my 65. They extend out farther in the rear too in order to correct the toe in issue, right? _________________ Jason

Hey GT3. Palmdale is the same ole same. I actually just moved back here. I moved to Spokane, WA in 1990. I had enough of the snow after 21 years. My kids grew up and moved on so I decided to come back to friends and warm weather
I am actually in Quartz Hill area. How's Carson City? I heard it's nice there.
Did you go to Palmdale High? |

i have the 2" on my notch. just measuring with a tape measure i have the toe adjusted to around 1/4". i plan to have it aligned properly one day. the only thing with them is i need to drill a hole for the emergency brake cable to pass through so it isnt coming into the backing plate at a wierd angle. he may do this for you if you ask since i have seen it done on the 4" plates he makes. hope this helps. _________________ Matthew Tolbert

When you install these plates, your car retains the stock torsion tension as well as eliminating the toe-in effect caused by lowering your car. It reduces premature tire wear created by lowering by the torsions. Again, I have mine on my T1. |

And these are suited to the type 3 also? _________________ John

Nice car, if only I were rolling wide 5's.
If the cars are lowered with the torsion bar adjustment wouldn't the tension still be the same since the bar is just in a different position?
The car still weighs the same and the bars carry that same load?? _________________ John

This tension nonsense has got to stop.. If you use the same torsion bar, neither a stock plate or a lowered plate are going to effect different tension on that bar.
These are for toe-in corrected and if you are extremely low, will give you back your travel. At 2 splines on stock plates, I dont hit my bumpstops, so the travel point is a bit moot.
Take all this with a grain of salt, I don't expect to end this argument anytime soon.. _________________ 1967 Squareback |
