I picked up a cheap super beetle early in the summer.
I purchased this double cab in late October from a member in Florida and brought it back to Tennessee. I have a lot of work ahead of me on this truck but look forward to it.
I am very new to aircooled engines and have lurked on the samba for a while and learned a lot. I figured it was time to introduce myself.
Here are a few shots of my double cab from a nice drive today.
The day we brought her home.
This is my other toy that I have worked on for the past six years.
I look forward to learning a lot more and sharing more of my own aircooled builds. |

Nope. Just a rare, odd, authentic Japanese intake.
Thanks!! |

Looks rusty. So are you going to sell that Honda now that you have a real car? |

I once was very much into Honda's. then my dad brought home a beetle. then another. and another. eventually i couldnt resist after i saw my first slammed beetle. i knew i had to have one. so i built my first aircooled, top to bottom. then i bought a bus last year and have never regretted leaving the honda scene.
im sure you may find out the same thing will happen. VWs are much more enjoyable. _________________ 1960 Bus Panel/Camper |

What a great truck! Less negative attention and speeding tickets with the bus! |

That DC has been listed for sale a few times over the past few years. I've wished I had the cash every time I saw it come up for sale . Hope to see it at Bugapaluza or CYW this year! _________________ Eric - 1966 camper bus

Thanks for all of the positive comments.
I do plan on keeping the S2000. I absolutely love the car. I do, however, want to distance myself a little from the stereotypical honda scene.
There is a fair amount of rust in the common spots on the dc. I have already started ordering replacement panels for those spots. I had to replace a few things on the dc to make it road worthy. The first part was a new shift rod bushing. The one that was on there was shot. It had no parking brake cables when I got it, replaced those. Brakes had to be adjusted and bled and I also put the correct plug wires on with new plugs and points. As of right now, it runs like a champ.
I do look forward to getting familiar with the good vw events and attending in the coming year. |
