The directions say to install the rods with the "bearing tangs down". Do I install them the same way as Volkswagen says? In the "Christmas tree" form? Thanks

Yes..... If crank is laying flat as when it is assembled in motor, the two rods to right have tangs down and the two rods to left have tangs down..

You got instructions with your rods? I bought a set of Uni-Tech HD rods and all I got was a box with four rods.

No tangs on those. I think the "uni" stands for universal. There is no orientation needed...they go either way I found out when I called.

The OP is referring to the bearing tangs down. This is the standard orientation.

They didn't come with instructions, just a label on top of the box. Had torque spec and the bearing tang installation note.
