Should they fit snug in the valve stem? Mine are loose and fall of the valve easily... _________________ '71 VW 1302 1300cc in progress....

they should be loose, but not sloppy. put a little dab of grease on the end of the valve stem then put the cap on it. that will hold it for assembly. _________________ Tehachapi, CA

For a high performance engine they should be as tight as you can get, while still being able to push them on with your fingers.
On the other hand, if you are using steel valves, street or BP dual valve springs, moderate lift and cam lobe ramp, well centered rocker pad wipe, you'll likely be fine. Just know that if you float the valves at high rpm, the first thing to fail with be it spitting out a lash cap... |
