The 2 curved metal brake line lock tabs look backwards to me. |
x2 doesnt look like they would hold anything that way... _________________ Stuart Zickefoose

I think you two are right. I will change that today. I appreciate the info. This has definitely been a learning experience. It has been so long since I worked on a VW that I have forgot a LOT. |

Well, I have gotten a little done. I made some spacers for my master cylinder and got them put in.
Then I have got most of my sound deadener in. I still have the luggage tray and kick panel left.
It is a amazing how I keep finding things that should have been fixed or was half #$@% fixed when it was out of my hands. I discovered that one of my body mount bolts was loose in my brand new heater channels. It looks like the threads are messed up and "someone" broke a bolt off in it. I cant really tell at this point. |

Well, I borrowed a welder today and am going to touch up the pan to make sure it is strong.
I was able to finally get my motor in. It took a lot to get it in. I have to modify the tin to get it to work right, but I will get there. Sorry for the poor pic, but this was the best I could do!

Well, I have made some progress over the last couple of days. I got my headlights and taillights working.
I feel like I am getting close even though I still have a lot to do!

Well, I got a couple packages in the mail today!!
Unfortunately the exhaust is hitting the inner fender and wont go on. I didnt have much time to look at it to see what I could do. So, I played around with my gauges. I got them mounted and played around with the lighting.
I placed green covers over the lights in the gauges. What do you think?? I think it will go nice with the color of the car.

*drool* looks incredible, man!
Sorry there have been setbacks... But how's the build going?
I finally got the cajones and got the body off mine. This is extremely motivating! |

For the money you spent, put the car on a trailer and haul it back, have Joe align the door and latch.
10 hrs of driving is worth it being right...
Car looks great, take your time, save your money, and do things right the first time |

Your comment is uncalled for. I'm certain the owner has spent countless hours pondering the best course for his restoration to include driving distance, finances and in the end overall appearance.
The horse you kicked is most certainly dead.
Let's move along shall we. _________________ 58 Beetle | 79 Rabbit 20vT | 84 GTI TDI |84 GTI 16vT |12 Golf TDI ----99 QCSB Ram Cummins | 02 Burb 4x4 2500 |

Thanks Jberry! It has been very slow moving. My finances are not existent. I hope to have it on the road before the end of the summer, but I am not holding my breath!
Txoval.....yeah I have all kinds of money lying around to haul it back to Joe. I should have just sent it to one of my first two choices.
Thanks vdubspeed! I am definitely beat down. |

I love to see someone take a car from the ruff shape yours was in and transform it into something special. People like you are what makes this hobby so much fun and keeps these old cars out on the road. You can look at someones build on a car and see they have a love for the volkswagens. You have that love. Keep the project going. Looks great. |
