The other day after starting up my wagon (91 Camper 2.1) I started down the road and the van would not accelerate, it would stumble and bogg down. I made it back home and looked in engine compartment and everything looked fine. I started the engine and it cranked and Idled fine for just a few minutes and then started stumbling like it was starving for gas and then shut down. I ran a pressure check per bentley's and everything checked good, pressure was where it should be. I then borrowed a good ECU and tried that but still had the same results. After changing back to my ECU I decided to disconnect my 02 sensor. It cranked up fine and ran like it should. I then hooked it back up just for kicks to make sure that was the problem, and sure enough it started to stumble and shut off after a few minutes. I then disconnected and ordered another one (bosch). While waiting on the part to come in I noticed when I drove the van with the o2 sensor disconnected, that it took a little longer to crank and there was the smell of gas in the engine area. I thought this may be normal with the sensor disconnected. Next day new o2 came in and I installed it. It cranked up and ran fine and I drove it to see how it runs. Everything checked out fine and I thought everything was good. The next day I noticed when I started it up it took a little longer to crank, then when I exit the van I smelled gas again. This van has never had these issues, it started up within 2-3 seconds, and never smelled of gas. I checked engine compartment and it is dry as a bone. I have resealed the tank about a year ago, and replaced all fuel lines, filters, and injectors about 6 months ago.
I have used this forum for other issues and had great results. Has anybody ever had this or something similar. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
