I would like to see some pics of a BD front beam. I searched the gallery w/no luck. I heard they were alot different from Other T2's.

Yep, they are a lot different. You can go to www.barndoor.dk and they may have some pics for you there. The spindles are different, drums are different, brake systems are different, the spindles have a tie rod connection in a different place, the tie rods themselves are different, the steering boxes are different, there are two "supports" that connect to the frame toward the rear of the Bus, and there are most definitely more than that but that's just what I recall off the top of my head.

There are a couple of shots where you can JUST begin to see the differences if you go to "My Panel" and check some of the resto pics of his '50. The beams also mount in a totally different way than later Buses. They don't attach on the sides of the frame like the later ones. That's just one more major difference.

i'll post one to the gallery. i'll title it "barndoor front end". it's one that i rebuilt, and is out of the vehicle for easy viewing. sorry for the weird angle, but it's just sitting on the ground, waiting for a certain single cab to return from the body shop.
