I am installing some CB rods on a crank right now at specifie torque setting (24ft/lb) the nuts dont line up with the flats on the rods. Lining them up would provide maximum clearence. I just checked and going up to 32 ft/lbs gets them closer but not quite line up. What's best to do here with them torqued to spec I have atleast .040 (sometimes just barely) clearence everywhere but with them flat I gain a much more margin of error but not worth throwing a rod over if that's what overtorqueing will gain me.... |

Torque the rod to spec and clearance the case as needed. _________________ 2017 Street Comp Champion - Thunder Valley Raceway Park - Noble, OK

well put dave. or play with your nuts ,swaping places to see if you can get them to all line up with your rod.but be carfull dont wear out your bolt&make sure you use plenty of proper lube. .040" clearance is plenty, if they tuch any thing at that clearance you have other issues.and what cb rod torques at 24??I have sets of thier h&I beams, none torque to 24. |
