What threads are these bolts? These are the bolts that the backrest pivots on the base of the front seat. If you want to see what they look like the WW part # is: 371881953. I was at a local hardware store that has just about anything you can ask for. I tried my best, as did the clerk, to match the threads and came up empty. The threads are close to 1/2" fine thread but I know this is a metric car and none of the metric threads matched. I would like to buy a tap and nuts but have no clue what to ask for. Is this just an odd ball part?

I have the bolts. My problem is where they screw into the seat base the threads are stripped. I'm trying to find a nut the same as the bolt and I will weld that on the seat base but I'm not having any luck.

I had the same issue. What I ended up doing was taking a piece of threaded rod cut to about 2x the length of the bolt, putting it through the hole, with a washer on each side, and a couple of nuts on each side with thread locker. Just dont tighten it up too much or you won't be able to move the seat back anymore. _________________ Cars So Far:

Here is what I've come up with. I'm using a 1/2" 20NF bolt and I was able to find a sleeve that has a 1/2" ID and a 5/8" OD. That will provide the surface for the seat to pivot on. I'm drilling the seat base with a 29/64" drill bit and also threading the seat base with a 1/2" 20NF tap. This is very close to the thread size in the seat base. I'm also going to put a small jam nut on the 1/2" bolt for more stability since the seat base is not very thick.
