Doesn't look good:
I think the bolt pattern is the same 5 X 112mm.
The center is to small and would have to be bored out.
The offset is probably around ET 45, so you would need spacers.
And- the tires would not be rated for the weight of the Westy.

The bolt pattern will be correct, but you will need to run spacers and get the center bores opened up. Some aftermarket wheels do have center bores bigger than the 57mm used by VW/Audi on their cars, but none that I know of will be big enough to get over the front grease caps on a Vanagon.

Yea, i will prob need to get tires/new lugs and bolts any ways, if i have to get the centerbore incareased i have a friend with a machine shop, hopefuly he can look after that, how big do you think the spacers will need to be, and are they hard to get?
oh yea i have to get the tires as big as posible need something to lower the revs on the new motor,,, looking around min 26" to 27"max,,
i guess they will have to have good side wall rating
Thanks !!! |

The fact that they are aftermarket wheels means there a really good chance that you won't need to have the centers bored. 18" wheel can fit onto a Vanagon, but without knowing the width, offset and having a photo of the wheels (which will help identify any possible center cap fitment issues), there really isn't much information that we can provide to you. _________________ "Sometimes you have to build a box to think outside of." - Bruce (not Springsteen)

That was my initial thought too.
So I did a google search and found this:

Looks like in '08 the Golf was 112 but the GTI was 100
To the OP,
Regardless, you'll need a big spacer and new hardware and some machine work
Don't make this too hard. Wheels are cheap. You can pick a style that you like off ebay and get them for under $250 delivered. A little curb rash that would drive a MBZ or Audi owner insane is unnoticeable on a van. |
