Anybody know what year fuel pumps will work on a 1978 fuel injected transporter? The reason I ask is mine is dead and so is my spare (go figure) and new ones are really expensive. I did a search on car-part.com and kept getting listings for Vanagons. Will they work? Anybody got a good spare they want to sell?

Thanks!

my oe pump quit (luckily) in my driveway. i switched my 78 bus to a pump from a late 80's Ford F150/Bronco/Ranger. i went to the wreckers and guess what? those ford pumps were bosch! identical. all i had to do was switch to a ford filter and put it on the other side. now if i have trouble the part is easy! $50 instead of $200.
