I picked up a 87 Vanagon to take up my spare time again. This one I found a couple hours away in PA. It was advertised here on Samba and originally from Iowa. It has been repainted and while not the best paint job, will work just fine for us. while driving it home I noticed I had to pump brakes once to get good pedal, and the clutch does not work very well. Once we got it home I noticed it needs a new clutch master and I will replace tomorrow. Once I get that replaced and get everything bled I hope that will also resolve the brake issues.
It also appears the shifter is way out of alignment, my hand seemed to hit the dash looking for first. Hopefully this is just an adjustment, but I'm prepared to but some linkage parts
I'm very surprised how clean it is underneath, we don't get older cars this clean in Ohio too often. Overall we are pretty excited and can't wait to get (name still pending) on the road and transporting the family around again.
