Has anyone here had the bus depot dual battery relay fail? Last night I was checking the engine compartment and noticed the wire that goes from the starting battery to the relay had fried and split. I replaced then wire and 15amp fuse on the relay but i don’t see a voltage spike from the alternator on the house battery anymore. _________________ 1971 westy

With the hella type relay should the voltage spike to 14+ on the second battery when running like the starter battery does? _________________ 1971 westy

I can't imagine how a relay alone could cause that, unless you wired it wrong. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.
Please don't PM technical questions, ask your problem in public so everyone can play along. If you think it's too stupid post it here

I think the wire may have gotten pinched and that’s why it shorted and fried. _________________ 1971 westy
