hi all. on my android. For some reason can't search.

The FPR can be pricey. At least locally. Anywhere from 156 to over $300. That said i may have a line on a good used FPR. However......

Is the AC FPR rated correctly for the WBX? If yes maybe reshape the bracket and run a "t" at the FPR inlet ?

Just a thought.

Neil.

Zounds! It was $71 on Amazon when I got one 3 weeks ago, now $106...

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001CO2U4C/ref=pe_175190_21431760_A1_cs_sce_dp_1

Amazon prices sometimes seem to behave like airline seats, responding to spot demand.

ya hypothetically speaking, if it was confirmed here or on some other popular forum, that the air cooled FPR could safely be used, i bet the price of that part would go up! Wink

Maybe it is.

Reading Bentley, the fuel pressure regulator specs shown for testing with vacuum line connected or disconnected are the same for air cooled and WBX; either 29 or 36 PSI respectively.

So aside from 2 added joins for a T from regulator inlet, and possible hose positioning hassles, why wouldn't one do this?

Or does the diaphragm/spring in the air cooled FPR operate in a totally different manner than the WBX part?

The air cooled part is less $ and possibly easier to find.

Neil.

One source I'd forgotten to check. AZ Autohaus:

Now I'll never get one. Wink

Hopefully the locally available used part is what seller claims it is. (rust free, working)

Neil.

Just to hopefully clarify, I think this is the part you're contemplating as a substitute:
