Any good camping spots near the show? Not crowded that is. Also, does Lynx Lake require you to reseve spots for camping? _________________ Bus Builder |

5 minutes from the school is white spar campground. Go south on whiskey row about 3miles which will turn into white spar hwy 89a. About 2 minutes past Ponderosa tires you will see the campground on the left. There are campgrounds everywhere in Prescott but check in with Prescott National Forest because they had an extremely dry winter. Lundes Peoria Vw is arranging a caravan from the valley. That Should be fun!!! |

They're planning to do a caravan up there? Nice! Is there any info on the plans posted anywhere?
Thanks. _________________ Bus Builder |

Hey guy's just wanted to give out some information on camping in the Prescott area. Because its going to be Memorial Day weekend if you have to book anything I would do it now. This is the second busiest weekend of the year for the City of Prescott. I have listed a phone number and a website for the Prescott National Forest.
Good luck and see you at the show.

Yeah, I couldn't find anything at all.
Maybe I'll just drive up the night before and check out whiskey row instead of 5am wake up and roll. _________________ Bus Builder |

I am in the same boat as you, trying to decide if I drive up after work or first thing in the morning. At least it will be cool in the morning, less traffic and likely a more pleasant drive. _________________ 1957 Oval rag

Not a facebook user either but Ill call Mark from Lundes VW and have him post any info on here. Me and a few other guys are going to be caravaning anyway that morning but Lundes always puts on really good events for the aircooled community in the NW valley so Im hoping they are still considering the caravan as it would be a quality event like usual.. |

I spoke to Mark at LundesVW this morning. He was waiting closer to the show date to post details on facebook about the caravan. Saturday May 26th at 6am the caravan will be leaving Lundes Peoria VW on Bell rd a few block west of the 101 loop. A final stop at the gas station on the I-17 and CareFree Hwy (74) before heading up the hill will be made at around 6:30am. Should be fun a fun cruise no doubt as they bring aircooleds out of the woodwork whenever they put on an event.

Hey guys just wanted to give out some more information for the "Bugs in the Pines" car show on the 26th.
Contact Mark Miller at Peoria Volkswagen for caravan information on the morning of the 26th. They will meet at the dealership on Bell Rd at 06:00 and again at the Chevron gas station on I-17 and the Carefree Hwy at 06:30.
.... Mark Miller, 623-521-7982
It should be a nice cool drive to the North that time of day and we are expecting sunny skies with a high of around 85 and a slight breeze.
Have a safe trip and we will see you at the show.

I'm driving up there this afternoon. It's supposed to be chilly so hoodies are going to be a plus. I need to figure out some fun things to do with the family while there for after the show.
Also, if you see any bug parts on the side of the road, like a beauty ring or maybe running board trim, I'd appreciate it if you could stop and pick it up for me. _________________ Bus Builder |

A note from the host.
We should have the pictures of the Kelley Speed, Bugs in the Pines car show up on the website very shortly to include the trophie winners. In the mean time, put your pictures up here on The Samba for everybody to see. You can also send them to [email protected] and we will put them into the Kelley Speed, Bugs in the Pines photo album for the 2012 car show.
I hope everybody had a good time and I was glad to see you all there. We have more to do for next year's event and have learned alot from this one.
Thanks for a great show.
