Hi All!
while i've been searching how to clean my gas tank i came up across the original color code for my gastank... L29 gray-blue (true or not?), however i wonder what the originale color code would be for the bumpers etc? can anyone help me out, the more we know the better for every standard owner!
best regards

Bumpers would be body color or optional C_H_R_O_M_E! There is a longggggggggggggggggggggg extensive thread on gas tank colors. I do not remember reading anything specific about standard tanks however. I think you're talking about a 1956 or later tank? |

hi *Darren,
i don't believe what you say because all bumpers i've seen on vintage photos are some different from the body color believe me

Well, you;ve seen something I have not, I've only seen a handful of standards (split & oval), never an unrestored standard and those that have had painted bumpers matched the body (all by the way were Jupiter), this may have been in error or because the formula could not be found. Unfortunately, I do not have any documentation for standards that states it should be something other than body color (and I find those sources rather dubious). |

Steven, depending on the destination country , the colour varied. I am pretty sure your bumper needs to be a silverish gray metallic or a jupiter one... _________________ When a deluxe is not enough.... you go standard
