I don't have my Bentley in front of me since I'm at work, but I thought you needed to remove the test port plug that's on the Drivers Side, outer casing of the Trans, and hook up a Transmission Test Gauge/ hose to it.
Maybe someone can post the page from the manual if you don't have access to one. _________________ '68 Westy- my first VW and vehicle/Bus- long gone.- sold it to a traveling Swiss couple....

Greetings,
Nice first post.
The Vanagon has the VW 090 automatic. Since this is the Vanagon forum, I assume you are asking about the 090 automatic, and not the 010, which dates from 1972.
The pressure testing for the 090 is covered in Bentley 37.17-37.18.
What kind of problem are you trying to solve? It sounds like you believe the ATF pump may be underperforming.

This has the 010. I think jlrftype7 has solved my problem. This one has the oil cooler connected to the test port. |
