Hello everyone. Hey, here's one I've been wondering about. I've been hanging on to a couple lengths of air conditioning hose (scavenged off old Westy). I figured it might be useful for something, would it hold up to the heat for a remote oil cooler?

I wouldn't recommend it, oil hoses are resistant to chemicals and heat and that is what they are made for, I am not sure what a/c/r hoses would hold up to. But if I were hooking up an oil cooler to my engine they would have new hoses and not risking the chance of the a/c hoses bursting or even cracking for being so old and possibly ruining the engine from being run down on oil.... Buy new. good luck anthony

Thanks, I hadn't really even considered the adverse ramifications of failure. That's also a great reason to get rid of some more legit junk I'll never use.

YMMV.

Those a/c hose probably aren't any good for a/c use anymore if the system was opened up let another another use.
