I searched and couldnt find much so...
anyone know if I can run 15x7 Cookie Cutter rims on front an rear of a 72 STD Beetle and not have to narrow the beam and not worry bout rubbing.Im gonna run 195/60/15's on them or smaller if needed, might even go with the stretched look.I know they have a 23et thats all, and they will fit the rear , but the front is my main concern really. _________________ 1972 Standard Beetle

holy fuck you had 135's on a 7 inch rim? thats the most fucked up thing you could manage to run on those wheels. FAR too narrow of a tire.
i hope 135 is just a typo and you infact ran something wide enough for that rim. _________________ drive your split. |

When I had my 15x7 cookies and a stock width beam on my 66 I didnt rub, Im running the same 15x7's on my car right now with a 3 inch narrowed beam and cb drop spindles, I still dont rub. _________________ Follow IG for more content @greyarearacing

Saw this post and was wondering if anyone might know...
I have a 73 standard with stock rims 145 up front and 165 in rear. I got some cookie cutters and wanted to use the same tires if possible. Right now the 165s tuck in and dont rub. I have adapters from Empi. The cookie rims are 6.5 and 7.5 just wondering if theyll fit. I tried in the rear, 215/60s that came on the rims and they stick out about an inch and the car rubs as soon as i sit in the car. Any help would be appreciated.

You have some expensive changes in your future...
IMO the 145 and 165 tires are too narrow to fit the 6 and 7 inch cookies, so you should get new tires. Also, the adapters are pushing the wheels out too far. Lose them and switch to Porsche pattern drum or disc brakes.
Or stick with what you've got and sell the cookies? |

Porsche pattern rear drums are available from a few places, like http://carcraftstore.com/porscheandchevypatternreardrum.aspx
I've not seen Porsche pattern drums for the front available aftermarket. You might have to upgrade to Porsche pattern disc brakes.
I love Cookies too. I wish I could find a set of 15x6 locally in great shape. I've seen some really bad ones, and some of the nicer ones in the classifieds here would cost $$$ to ship to the east coast. |
