|
|
In the constant search for some alloy wheels to fit to my '69 Ghia, I thought I might share the list of 4-stud wheels I have found so far that should have Ghia friendly offsets;
(this is without resorting to narrowed beams or short rear axles)
ATS 5-spoke wheels 5554, as fitted to late 1303 cabriolet (ET34)
AC 8-spoke (EMPI replica) (ET35)
Porsche 2.0 replica (ET35)
Porsche 2.0 genuine wheel (ET40)
Java JeeBee Gas Burner replica 4 stud (ET40)
Pedrini 4 stud 914 wheels (ET41)
Others worth considering are original Lemmerz Sprint Star wheels in steel at 4.5" width (ET32)
Feel free to add any others to the list !

Excuse my ignorance, but can someone tell me (or point me to a chart or something) what all these ET numbers mean in real world dimensions?
offset? rim width? etc.?
thanx,
Bob

ET = offset in mm. ET35 = +35 mm offset. Offset is measured from the middle of the rim, e.g., 2.75 inches from inside of the inner lip of a 5.5 inch wide rim.
Backspacing is measured from the backside/outside of the inner lip of the rim, so the material width of the lip/flange can factor into it.
This might help:

ET is the abbreviation for the German word Einpresstiefe, literally "press-in depth". |

Please note that the Porsche 2.0 wheels are called Fuchs (Fox in English).
Both they and the Pedrinis are available in early or late versions which can be identified by the part number forged into the back side. Number ending in 00 denotes early, 01 is late.
Early versions are lug-centric, while late versions have been recessed to fit the centering rings on the front brake rotors and are hub-centric. |
