There's often a difference between a correct part and one that "fits".
California Import Parts sells the correct mirror under the part #C16-141-500-R:

The '66 and maybe '67? Ghia came with a different smaller mirror than the later cars. I believe only convertibles came with a passenger side mirror?

The right side mirror was an option, either flat or convex. Various markets from 1969. M62, M261, M528. _________________ Jason Hamilton

No, they were certainly only an option. Which, on a vert at least, makes changing lanes a real nightmare-- there's a blind spot a semi could hide in.
Before I posted the original message I went thru the Gallery and couldn't find any pics of mid '60's cars with the passenger side mirror. The odd thing is that passenger side mirrors seem to have been more common on the earlier (mount on fender) models-- maybe cause they look cooler than the door mount? |

If it's correctness you're woried about, anything added to enhance safety can be overlooked from an originality standpoint. I don't see at as any more inappropriate than, say, radial tires or seat belts. My advice: go with the CIP mirror. _________________ Jason Hamilton
