I haven’t noticed that my bus 65’ has an extra hole right next to the wiper switch. Does anyone know what is it for? And another question... is the wiper switch for my bus only one year?
Thanks for your help!

Extra hole is probably for the passenger ejection seat switch.
Really who knows, but the DPO.
Switch part number, used from chassi to chassi, how many used per bus, are all available in the VW dealer parts manual here:
http://www.oacdp.org/
Do use the "Full Index" it is a lot easier to navigate thru. Section 9 covers "Electricals". Lots of glorious exploded diagrams that are worth the trip there in themselves.
You will easily find parts you never knew should be on your bus with that manual! _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

Yes. The wiper motor and switch are both one year only. First year of self-parking wipers! 66 was the start of two-speed wipers so totally different setup. _________________ Shawn

Lighter socket was always a non-factory install at the dealer or DPO. _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

My 65 has one as well. Typical looking chrome-ish cigarette lighter. I took the knob off the one that was there and replaced it with a switch knob to match the others.
