Just got my 77 Baywindow back from some rust repair around the windscreen.
I used a local welder who does ALOT of "metal fab" and roof chops, rot repairs, etc. Ive used him in the past for other VW projects and have always been very happy with the results.
The issue is, he doesn't paint.
I've gone to a few different shops for estimates on paint work. One guy, who painted a friends car suggests a blend. He says that would give the least noticeable line of demarcation from the old and new.
Another shop suggests painting the entire nose
(I'm partial to the entire nose, because it would get rid of a few light stone marks from my travels)
Is one way better than the other?

| Refinishing the entire nose, removing your stone chips, then losing the blend of the color around the rolled edge of nose to side. Then clear coat the entire nose around the corners, to the next available body seam/jamb. |

Look up my "another nose job" in the bay forum. Just do the whole nose. My truck is red, which is a bitch color to match on a good day and it is about 95% close.
I stopped posting progress on it due to the lack of intrest on the forums. I guess if you do your own work, you don't matter much....
As mentioned, you will have a nicer job and a rust free nose to boot _________________

| Thanks for the correction. I used to be a nice guy, then I ruined it by exposing myself to the public. |
