Hey all
I was wondering if there is a company you guys know of that if I give my gear ratio and tire size would make a speedometer calibrated to my buggy. Tired of having a wrong speedometer.
Thanks in advance,

Pick up an issue of Street Rodder magazine, there's lots of companies that make them.

If your buggy is based on a Type 1 chassis then the speedometer runs off the left front wheel. Tranny gear ratios and rear tire size don't matter. A stock Beetle speedometer should display the correct speed if you have a tire close to 25.4" tall on the front.
There are also GPS speedometers that are very accurate.
Need more info on your situation.

Very interesting thank you! I measured the front tire and it is close to 29". Besides changing tire size is there anything I can do? I have also thought about the GPS speedo and that is a good suggestion. Only thing is I was hoping to have the odometer correct as well. As far as if it a Type 1 chassis or not, with my limited knowledge I will say it is. From what I understand the other types are the buses and ghias right? |

| What are you using for a speedometer now? Any electronic speedometer, sendig unit and speedo cable can be calibrated for whatever tire you choose. And it can be recalibrated if you ever choose a different wheel/tire combo. |

It's an autometer analog speedometer. Is it something I can do or do I have to send it somewhere? |
