Another '60! Working on 26890XX myself, looks like you've got a rather straight and solid base to work with. Looking forward to progress pics. |

I dont get much time to update but here is some pics of what ive been up to over the last few weeks.
Got the body off
jacked the body up so i can work on it in my dads garage. i've been cleaning down where the rust is and taking off the plates welded over the rust
I know a fair bit of work but will be worth it when its done. |

Nice project. Could be worse
What are your plans? Are you going to restore it stock or shall it stay a "race car"?
Just finished my `59 Chassis number 2650XXX.
Good Luck _________________ ________________________

Here's a little update. My heater channels have arrived. They came just before Christmas got some welding done the other week so sorted the back wheel arch. one rust spot down about 20 to go. Need to clean up the welds, hopefully get that done this week.
Just spent the last few days getting small parts cleaned up. It makes me feel like i am progressing when my dad cant help me with the welding.

I also brought these little beauty's the other day off ebay. They are complete with original Hella lenses
Btw does anyone know much about restoring Chassis's because i don't really know what to use when it comes to protecting the chassis ive read some forums and people use por15 or Rustoleum.
Thanks |

Go with Masterseries if you are coating the pan yourself. The POR15 is finicky and I've seen mixed results with it. Personally I vote for powdercoating, I've been doing it to them for years and have never regretted it. Take a look at the my 58 project in my signature. _________________ Jason

Nice thread do you not put anything on the underside of the pan after you powder coasted? Ive heard a lot of negativity about por15 so will defo stay away. thanks for the help |

I've never run anything but the powdercoating on the bottom. Years ago when I was a broke young lad I used to put bed liner spray on the bottom just to clean it up. But that is when I would section in good spots of the pan or if was in good shape and needed cleanup. Now I just get them in powder and I've never had any durability issues. I also don't drive my cars in bad weather and they live inside. _________________ Jason
