I was doing some routine maintenance on my stock '65 stock 40 hp this morning and after I was done, I made a quick run (8 miles round trip) to get some gas. Car was missing and bogging down. Got home and realized that I had forgotten to reconnect the vacuum pipe (from the dizzy) to the carb. Engine seemed hot and there was condensation on the intake manifold and carb.

Engine is all stock with PICT 28-1 carb and 111905205M dizzy.

Do you think I did any damage? Things to check?

Thanks,

Bob

I doubt you did any damage. The distributor wasn't advancing. No advance is better than too much advance. I drove my '65 sunroof 5 miles from where I bought it to home with the distributor not advancing and it still ran great after I fixed the problem.

I've done the same thing before myself. I'm sure it's fine.

Yep, the worst it can do is to run slightly lean. But since you only drove 4 miles each way, you were running rich on the choke, so it never noticed.
