I'm seriously considering making my 71 Deluxe into a panel Bus.
After 2yrs of not being able to do any work on my bus due to health and financial reasons, I've finally been able to start working on it. And it turns out the the body has way more rust than I initially thought. I knew when i got it that I was going to have to do the lower windshield frame and the lower front panel.
And after removing the rubber floor mat in the front area so I could replace the throttle peddle i found that the floor had been repaired with license plates sometime thru the yeard. But thats no big deal as I've built floor boards for many vehicles over the years.
But after washing off many year of dirt and grime. I'm finding that the the bottom of both driver's side windows and the window on the sliding door have some serious rust out issues.
With funds being the way they are and wanting to get the bus on the road after having it for 2 yrs. And with having the sheet metal readily available and free. I'm thinking removing the glass and making it a panel bus.
I saw another thread where someone paneled theirs, but was wondering if anyone else has done it? and how they turned out |
