Dear VW Lovers

I am trying to learn more about my cars history, which is difficult as I bought it from an online auction in Hiroshima where the auction house was not able to provide more information on the car origin. I was hoping to get in touch with anybody who might have any info about the previous whereabouts of my VW.
1966- manufactured in Germany and sent to USA (San Diego)
1985- BANFF National Park Canada
2004- registered in Japan (an 55 year old lady who owned a VW mobile cafeteria in Kyoto knows that some person came with this car to her cafeteria and asked for advise how to transfor the camper into a mobile cafeteria, but she was not able to establish after 15 years who this person was)
2016 – sold on auction

If any of the car stickers might help you recognise this car (maybe it belong to your parents, grandfather, friend) please let me know Sad
I tried contacting US DMV, seeking by VIN number – nothing.

My last hope is asking you Very Happy
Cheers!

Nice bus! Post up the M-codes

https://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/info/mcodest2.php

as it would give you a far better idea what the origins of the bus are. I think if you look at that Banff sticker closer you will see "1885" not "1985", as the park was founded in 1885 and doesn't necessarily reflect that the bus was in Banff in 1985.
