I finalized the deal in February. I finally got a chance to start it resurrection and snap some pics. Gave it a good bath.
It was a runner 5 years ago. Im resealing the engine and refreshing the brakes and mechanicals and gonna drive it as is. I will post more progress pics ASAP!

I definitely plan on it. it's not too far off so it should be a fast revival. unlike my bus, which is now an abandoned project |

Double-Cab threads seem to be are popping up a bunch lately! Nice score! Wash off that Beeotch and send all of us some more photos. How's the interior? I have that same Brazilian tilt frame and black vinyl cover on my '59 DC ( http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=545000 ), nice and streamline with the DC roof.
Bill _________________ I'm looking for these license plate frames from old Volkswagen dealerships for my fleet:
Coeur D'Alene - Lake Shore Volkswagen
Mission VW - San Fernando
Thornton VW - Stockton
Thanks for any help!

Looking good Mike!!!! I've decided to keep ole " Chico Leroy " let's load up the bikes and go do some moto camping!!! BTW. A bike in the back would be the setup for BBT not to mention Hull Mountain.

Pretty cool patina ride! Good driver. Have you ever been to Peninsula Automotive there in Campbell? Great people, doing new driveline and suspension on my 63 d-cab. I'll be there working on it this Saturday, drop by and let me check yours out.

Where do put a drive line in a crew cab? Just curious
Why are having work done in the bay area if you live in Placerville? _________________

| LOL!! Yeah, guess I've been around American too long, better sort my terminology. I just meant they're doing motor and trans, suspension, basically everything new underneath. Nobody in Sacramento was interested; I have buddies that use these guys and they came recommended. I have a great air cooled service outfit close to me here in the foothills, VW Enterprises, and I will certainly rely on them for service if needed, but they are a small operation, and I don't think they would have been able to handle in a short period of time what I wanted. |

Hey Bob,
Thanks for the kind words. That is an old crappy repaint that is covering up bondo and mismatched parts. I may come up with a budget solution or just leave it as is. I dont know yet. Priority 1 is driving it!
Right now it is in Vacaville getting some work done, that frankly, I was too lazy to do. it should be done and driving in a couple weeks. Maybe ill see you at Kelley Park, Ranch Run or Bug O Rama? I plan on being at all 3 shows with it. |
