Dave has been working on ole Ruby for a while and has done the majority of the metal work on her. He decided to bring her to us to get her wrapped up for him and into paint so that he can get her back together and on the road for some summer time cruising! Dave did lots of metal replacement on her and did a very good job of it using OG metal from donor cars, so we dont have a lot of welding to do on Ruby before bodywork. we did get her all blasted to bare metal and looking super nice and solid then gave her a nice coat of epoxy to seal her up ! somehow i lost some pictures of when she first arrived. Maybe Dave has a pic or two we can get him to throw up here to show the "before" shots. and hopefully he will chime in with some floor pan updates for us as he is doing that at home to get it ready for the body.I will be updating as we go along to bring Ruby back to her better than new status!

We've got some of the metal work wrapped up on ole Ruby here! We welded up all the extra holes in the front parcel area where it must have had some speakers and or radio or something hanging there over the years! We also got a couple rust holes repaired in the wheel well area and some finish metal work done in the spare tire well, and we replaced the majority of the drivers side carpet retaining strip on the rocker area! Not much more welding Ned's done in his beauty . Then time to do final fits of all removables and the. Into bodywork!

I will get some more pics uploaded this weekend of the different metal work areas we've done, we also did some welding and cleaning up at the ottom of th door pillars .

here are some pics Joe sent to me a while ago, first two are him working on the reinforcement rail that I hand fabricated to look like the original, third are seat belt mounts added to install lap belts, they are anchor plates from an old pan, welded in from underneath, last pic is the drivers side carpet retainer repair. just had a couple spots where it was rusted out. |

that is the pan, and now the body and pan are mocked up together so I could get the door gaps correct. just a few more small welding repairs and then on to the body work. |
