Sorry to disagree but I do not think it is a shalavette...maybe it is a knock off of the mold.
The light detail is rounded...the shalavette had square headlights.

Looks like a cross between a Shala Vette and a Claim Jumper.

Well, I just got back from buying it. Am going to pick it up tomorrow. Got the buggy with running engine in it, another engine the guy says runs, cool Cobra slotted aluminum mags, all for $400.00. Needs pans, but starts right up. No windshield, but all steering mechanism mounted and working. Lights work.

Will post more pictures when I get it home. It has a flat rear that flips up to expose engine. Neat Mustang taillights. The body is all one piece. It has an interesting inner liner meaning the body has two finished sides, one inside and one out. Didn't see any ID markings, plates, etc. More to come.

O.K., here are some more pictures. I don't know if this is a buggy or some sort of kit car. There is an inner liner (see photos) that gives the interior a finished feel. Never seen a buggy like that. Give these a look and if you know what it is, speak up!

Considering a lot of thing it isn't that bad...... A little bit of time and a few dollars you should have it running by the end of the month.... Errr... Well maybe end of year.... It has some neat features like the flip up rear for engine access..... It has the potential to be a sweet ride if you don't loose interest along the way... IT also looks like it needs to be really low to the ground with that body style....

I agree VERY low to ground and a good size tire in the back to fill the tire well.

Such a great looking body deserves better tail lights. My suggestion would be the same as what's in the following link, i.e. Sequential Mustang tail lights:
