There is no whine section for the porsche forum but if there were, this would be in it. $185000 for this 912. I get it, it has a polo 4 engine in it and its a clean original 912 car but... 50k for the the engine and another 50k on the super high end for a comparable 912, where is the 185k coming from. Early P cars have always been expensive but this is just crazy. _________________ 59 Kombi

you are just jealous! It does sound pretty expensive as you could do this with a nice clean 912 and install a Raby type4 200hp engine for $15k. paint and suspension upgrades aren't more than 10k. _________________ 70 Ghia Black convert-9/69 build date-stock w/133k 1600 SP-barn find now with a rebuilt tranny and engine

Of couarse I am a jealous, that car is nice. but not 185k nice. I think Chris did an awesome job on the car and I like that he is promoting the polo 4 engine. Most of the time they were only used in 356's. I love my 912 and explored this option also but if I had an extra 185k for a car, I would not buy just one. I have a long list of multiple other cars that I would buy, and still have money take the family out to dinner. _________________ 59 Kombi

The owner has admitted that it is more of a publicity stunt, to get visibility for his car, and to get traffic to his website where he sells a couple of products. _________________ Mike B. |
