Did you perhaps knock the wire off of your carburetor for the fuel cut-off? Is the exciter wire from the dash light properly attached? You have fire at the coil, do you also have fire at the plugs? New cap & rotor? Proper plugs for wires, screw-off tips removed? |

First question - do you have gas in the carb? Look down the throat and work the thrott;e do you get a shot from the accel pump nozzle? If yes, then as mentioned chase down your electrical - Power to the coil? Spark at the plugs? _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone 1914. Ex wifes car.

No start with starting fluid: then you have electrical issue. Most likely suspect is spark plug wire orientation.
Also check for pwer to the carb electrojet and choke heater. _________________ 1970 VW (owned since 1972) and 1971 VW Convertible (owned since 1976), second owner of each. Loosen your band clamp on the alternator and see if it will slide enough. _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone 1914. Ex wifes car.

Ed1972,
Also check it isn't hanging up on the alt stand. I had to take the grinder to some the lower ribs on the alt to have it settle.
