My 70 vert has a strange ( to me ) problem. She sits about 3/4 lower on the drivers side front. Shocks were replaced by the PO back in 2006 with white KYB , I believe gas-a-just. When I bounce her up and down on both front sides, the passengers side goes back to original height, but the driver's side goes down, and I can "pull" it back to correct height...about the 3/4 inch difference....there is a "slack"that I do not have on the passengers's side... ball joints were also replaced, tie rod ends,,,steering dampner, etc....rear shocks were also replaced as well back in 2006. Rear end sits level. I have read many older posts about ride height...but this is a "wierd" thing...Your comments are MUCH appreciated!

Bob - pull the shock off and place it on the ground, and lean/push on it to compress it. It should have resistance, and spring back. Compare to the other side shock.

I just replaced 6-month old shock absorber on my truck under warranty, wouldn't spring back at all, and had zero resistance. Was a Monroe, and just a few months old on lifetime warranty.

I just replaced the driver's side front shock absorber on my Yukon Denali after having it on only 4 months. Before I could tell something was fishy it ruined a less than year old 305-35-24 tire with cupping. Was also a Monroe shock...

Took a chance, and picked up a new KYB Gas-a-just on Friday, and pulled the driver's side shock off...sure enough, it was weak...and replaced with the new shock. Now ride height is within 3/16 inches from side to side. FIXED!
