Are the guts...or skeleton frame behind the headlight for my 69.5 vert the same as any other Type 1 or are they specific to ghias? _________________ There is something that needs to be said here. |

Yes absolutely.....for the life of me I can't find the inner guts of the other !#$%^@^ing headlight...I know I had TWO when we moved....I've gone through apparently every box but one....the right one ! ! ! I need the inner guts of the headlight bucket. the two piece round "framing" with the tension screw at the 6 o'clock position and the springs on it....I will gladly trade several other parts for this one....!
Name what you need Ghia related and I will ship it out nacho pronto ! _________________ There is something that needs to be said here. |

if you are talking about the headlight retainer/adj assy...the 64-74 ghia shares the same assy with bugs 67-79, buses 68-79 and some other vw's
pretty common adj assy..... _________________ House of Ghia, since 1980

I'd like to suggest caution with this.
Many VW assemblies may look the same,
but when you get the adjuster assembly
into the bucket, many times you'll find that
not all the mounting tabs will line up!
Been there, done that & got the t-shirt to prove it. _________________ ****************************

I am having an issue with my headlight assembly. I had two assemblies to start with, but lost one. The number of the headlight retainer was SB12 311-941-045. Is this a Type 3 part? I thought I would order two new ones from KGPR. I ordered 141-941-041 KGPR #941-041 64 1/2 - 74 RP. The whole assembly. I get the assembly together inside the bucket, when I put the ring on the assembly is sticking out like a nipple in sub zero temps. I tried adjusting but it is simply to shallow to allow the bulb to come inside far enough. I want the light and assembly to maintain the line of the fender and not stick out like it is with the new assemblies. I can't find an old one on the Samba or anywhere, possibly because it is HELLA?
i hope I explained this clearly enough.
Please help out a guy in need of the infinite wisdom you all possess.
Thanks in advance |

I just talked to the guy that welded in the new bucket for me and he still has the old assembly! He sent me a pic. I'll pic up today. i'm a long time lurker, and haven't posted any pics yet. When I get the 67 done I will post a build post and let you all see what I've done.
For all the info and questions you guys have answered I am very grateful.
Thanks a million.
you guys and your knowledge are invaluable!!!
Cheers.
