I have a 7 pax 85 vanagon GL. It has the standard seating configuration with a 3 person bench in the back and a 2 person bench in the middle. What I would like to do is put 2 rear facing jumpseats in place of the middle seat and maybe someday down the road, also put the folding table in. I think the newer carats had this setup and I think it would be great. Can I do this? If I found a couple seats are there factory mount points in the regular vans? Thanks for the help in advance! _________________ This thread SUCKS!!! |

Some of the later model vans had the receptacles for the jump seats welded into the floor. I was able to rig up some receptacles in the floor of my '81 Westy for a passenger side jump seat. Junkyards are a good source for jumpseats and you'll be able to see how they are mounted. Be sure to get the mount brackets (left and right) that mount to the back of the seat pedastals. You'll also want to grab the seatbelt hardware too.
The folding table for the jumpseats is usually part of the entire driver's side interior trim panel, the large one.
I mounted a camper table bracket on the back corner of my driver's seat pedastal that worked well with a middle bench seat.
