This was on my 52's steering column. I thought it was a later one, probably is but the 56's and 57's I've had didn't have one like it. My 54's had the regular semaphore type switch. Just some later replacement?
Mine should be like this one I swiped from an ad, right?

Looks like a bus switch.
is your '52 a split dash or a Zwitter? A split dash wouldn't have anything other than the semaphore switch on the dash.
The lower one would be correct for a Zwitter. _________________ Chris

I think it's a 58-59 Ghia turn signal switch. The knob looks plump and not elongated like the bus knob. Try to remove the knob from the end of the signal lever. If the knob unscrews from the lever it's a Ghia switch, if the knob is cast onto the end of the lever it is a bus switch. |

With a little effort it did indeed unscrew. Since I don't need it do you need it Loren? You're the Ghia guy! |

Loren,
I have the same switch - it has dimmer capabilities (high and low beam) so I suspect it's a later split bus switch - 5 wire setup. Also the housing is bigger than normal switches (to accommodate dimmer movement). I can provide more pictures.

Well in looking again it's got seven wires! I would think Ghia too as if you look at the first picture it's got the sheet metal cover for those wires that slides into the rubber donut on the column where the retaining bracket goes. The two screws that hold the inside mechanism in place are gone so it's just all flopping around inside so until I secure it I can't test for the dimmer. |

'67 is the only bus switch with hi/lo on it and it has 9 wires _________________ '60 15 window walkthrough

OK,
My bad. The switch came to me already hacked, without wires, cut arm and extended with half arm from other car. I've checked all contacts and dimmer function - all works. Arm repaired and sent for rechroming. So I figures out that I can solder 5 wires and this will cover all my needs ('67 split bus application) - that's why I say 5 wires setup . _________________ The glory never gets old, just need new paint.

Indeed! It's a strange switch. I actually HAD a 58 Ghia which it is apparently correct for, but I never paid attention to the turn signal switch. Mr. Loren here was a tremendous help to me when I had that car so this switch is going to him. Now I must get a correct switch for my Zwitter. I was planning to forego using semaphores and using more practical flashing turn signals, so which switch would work best for that? |

66 had hi/low on the indicator stalk too. |
