Starter Relay Question

Hiya, Does anyone know where the starter relay under the dash is?? I've had to run a jumper wire back to the solenoid. Thanx for any help. Ol' John Cool

I don't think there is a starter relay. I couldn't find any info on one in the Bentley Vanagon manual. A lot of times people will add a relay back at the starter to help get enough juice to the starter and to compensate for the long run back from the starter switch. It also could be the electrical portion of your ignition switch. Let us know what year it is too.

Hiya, When I turn the key to start I heard a clicking under the dash. I thought it was a bad ignition swithch, however that didn't help. That;s when I ran a jumper with back to the solenoid. It's an '85 wbx. I still haven't been able to get a repair manual yet. Oh, Darn. Ol' John Cool

That click under the dash may be the fuel pump relay... That is if the system is the same as on my '82.
